NORTH COAST: RIVIERA DEL CORALLO - CAPO CACCIA BAY
In Summer, especially in July and August, pay attention to the traffic for all these beaches.
- LIDO DI ALGHERO
facilities and bathing establishments, restaurants and coffee shops. Part of the beach is also free. Reachable by a short walk from the historical centre, or also by bike along the promenade.
- MARIAPIA
between Alghero and Fertilia a long and white sandy beach, with pine forest to take a rest or have a pic-nic. Free beach and various shores. Also reachable by bike path and bus.
- LE BOMBARDE
one of the most renowned and fashionable beaches of the Riviera. Fully equipped for entertainment, sports and relaxation. Free beach and various shores, surrounded by a pine forest. Also reachable by bike path and bus.
- LAZZARETTO
Perfectly nestled among the thousand blue of the Mediterranean scrublands, overlooked by the Lazzaretto Tower. As all the beaches you will fined crystalline waters. Protected from wind it's a free beach with various shores. Also reachable by bike path and bus. - CALA DRAGUNARA a small jewel with unique colors near the promontory of Capo Caccia, it is about 20 meters long and offers a pier where small boats can dock.
MUGONI AND LA STALLA with a crystalline sea with emerald and golden hues surrounded by a pine forest of eucalyptus and pines and withban incredible view of Capo Caccia, they offer establishments, excellent restaurants directly on the beach such as "Le Ninfe", and on Sundays parties are organized with DJ or live band.
- PORTO CONTE
overlooking by the imposing cliff of Capo Caccia, with a sea in shades of green this very wide beach, runs about 6 km in length and includes Mugoni beach and La Stalla beach, both surrounded by a dense forest of pine eucalyptus trees. Long free beach and shores.
NORTH COAST: THE NORTHERN SEA
In Summer you can avoid traffic passing through the road to the airport.
- PORTICCIOLO
half-crescent of sand perfectly ensconced among the colors and scents of the Mediterranean scrub. This cove in spring is a veritable explosion of colors. With its shallow waters and rocky bottoms that give the waters a green and azure hue, it's closed off to the north by a cliff and overlooked by the lookout tower “Porticciolo'. From the beach you can take in the cliff sides of wonderful Punta Cristallo.
- PORTOFERRO
dark blue sea with large free red beach bordered by large dunes, near the Baratz Lake, the only natural lake in Sardinia and valuable nature area. A path connects the beach to the lake area. Beaten by Mistral wind, the beach is a favoured by surfers, but be careful to the windy days! Your experience with Escursì try the horseback ride on this wild beach and the Baratz lake.
SOUTH COAST (Alghero - Bosa)
Cycling is not recommended for the hard climb of the return, but with the car you will find very little traffic due to the lack of beaches around.
- CALA BURANTINU O DEL BOULANTI' Framed by the south reefs of the city, it consists of two gold-colored sand beaches. One of the favourite destinations of boaters for the tranquility and beauty of its waters. It is not easily reachable via land. You will have to leave the car on the road and continue on foot for nearly 1 km.
- LA SPERANZA (Poglina) Approximately 8 km south from the city, in the splendid scenery of the Alghero-Bosa cliffy coastal, is a large free beach with some shores. Thanks to South winds it is visited by enthusiastic surfers.
NEARBY ALGHERO (Stintino and Asinara)
- LA PELOSA is one of the most beautiful beaches in Mediterranean sea and perhaps in the entire world! Only an hour from Alghero, in Summer is always crowded and you need to book in advance but it's worth the view... See the website https://spiaggialapelosa.it/ and try not to go during weekend. Bring with you mats for preserving the beach, they are compulsory, you can buy them at the beach if you don't find them in the apartment. Here you are the timetable public bus.
